'PARRA' LEADS THE WAY IN CANADA |

 Petrus Du Plessis LED by Sedgley prop Petrus Du Plessis, the pack helped pave the way for a remarkable 75-10 win over the Toronto Xtreme, as Lancashire rounded off its 125th Anniversary tour to Canada in style to make it a three-game success.
‘Parra’ himself bagged a first–half try along with new Tigers teammates Freeman Payne and Stephen Nutt, who also claimed three conversions. Other try scorers in the opening 40 minutes were lock Chris Planchant, another Sedgley target who instead chose to join Doncaster Knights, Neil Kerfoot and Nick Royle (2). Centre Payne grabbed another touchdown in the second half along with Henry Platt, Kerfoot, Royle, Dam Palmer and Martin Scott The Red Rose side had opened the tour with a 25-17 success over The Rock in Newfoundland; that was followed by a 19-7 win over Niagara Thunder. Back home Sedgley lock Ed Norris is recovering from a minor surgery on a knee, while prop Gerallt Evans and fly-half Phil Jones are to undergo hernia operations. All are expected to be fit and raring to go for the new season. ● The draw for the opening round of the 2008 Lancashire Senior Cup, won by Sedgley last Month, will be held on June 27. |
