SEDGLEY PARK 3XV v LEIGH
Written by Chris Evans

Sedgley started brightly running the ball well both forwards and backs but were struggling to break the Leigh defence.

Even through Sedgley pressure, Leigh were the first to score finishing under the posts and converting.

The game started getting heated and after one incident the referee had no choice but to get tougher on tackles and the rucking. After this and constant pressure sedgley were awarded a penalty. They opted to kick and Jamie McAndrew put Sedgley on the board.

The game carried on pretty much the same manner all the way through. Sedgley kept working up the pitch but didn't look like scoring. Their persistance was rewarded by penalties that Jamie put over.

The game was now 9 - 7 to sedgley so the last ten minutes was going to be very hard fought. Leigh picked up there game and started attacking more and pressuring sedgley's line.

A miskick by Sedgley went straight to Jamie McAndrew and after a good run he looked like scoring but a dubious touch call brought Sedgley back to there own 5 metre line. From the line out Leigh pressured and Sedgley held strong to keep the game 9 - 7.
