Luther Burrell AT what could be a pivotal time of the season Sedgley Park have managed to add an up-and coming-talent to the squad they hope will help them climb the National Division One table.
Joining the Tigers this week is Leeds Carnegie’s Luther Burrell, a 20-year-old 6ft 3ins, 16 stone centre, and the management team can’t wait to get their hands on him!
“He’s the kind of player we’ve been looking for all season: an out-and-out inside centre, a strong, athletic ball carrier that can also offload accurately and take some of the attacking burden off Phil Jones’ shoulders,” said an excited Director of Rugby, Tim Fourie.
“We’ve been watching him for the last 12 months; we began keeping tabs on him last season and continued this season.
“We’ve been in constant contact with Leeds and they agree it is a good move for both the player and the clubs.
“We benefit from having another good player on our books and Leeds get a promising youngster who has added experience in a very competitive environment to his game."
