FOUR of the Tigers' summer signings were on the mark in Friday night's pre-season friendly triumph over National Division Two side, Wharfedale.

Chipping in with a brace of tries was flying winger Paul Wilcock, signed from Leigh RUFC, where he was top try scorer last season in North West Two.

Former Doncaster backrow-come-wing and the Tigers' latest Number 8, Ollie Cook, who also featured for the England Sevens team earlier this year, ran in try number three.

He was followed by 28-year old Tonga international Lisiate 'Richard' Tafa, signed late last week from Bradford and Bingley, who also picked up a yellow card after a spot of handbags. Last season he was the Bees' top try scorer in National Division Three North and began most games for them - 24. Previously he player for Hertford and Derby.

Last but not least was another speedy winger, Peter Swatkins, signed from Gloucester, who is also gaining valuable experience training with Sale Jets. Peter also got on the scoresheet for Sale in this weekend's Twickenham Sevens in the first round 26-5 defeat of Ospreys.

In that game Tigers' scrum-half Chris Leck, on load from Sale, scored and converted two tries to give the Sharks a healthy half-time lead.

The Tigers are hoping to add another player this week prior to the friendly against the Sale Jets at Edgeley Park on Friday night, kick-off 6pm.
