WITH 12 players unavailable for one reason or another, Sedgley Park have had to dig deep into their second team squad to come up with a match-day 22 for the visit of Bedford Blues.
Arno De Jager, Chris Wilkinson, Chris Hall, Jaco Swart, Jonny Roddam, Andy Craig, Phil Largan, Saula Roko, Chris Leck and Ben Lloyd are all injured, while Alex Bennett and Andy Vilk (still on England Sevens duty in South Africa) are unavailable. That does not include several members of the 22 selected who are carrying injuries.
As a result, the Tigers have drafted in another player on loan from Sale Sharks, Matt Riley, to play at fullback; Tom Albinson moves into the left wing berth with back rower Ledua Jope going on to the right wing, while Rich Senior, who retired at the end of last season to coach the seconds, takes his place on the bench again, joined by Manchester University student Henry Monsell, a second-teamer who is there as backs cover.
The forwards are bolstered by the well timed return of lock Ed Norris from suspension, as Sale Shark Ben Lloyd has picked up a shoulder injury, while straight into the front row go two further Sharks, prop Martin Halsall and hooker Mark Jones.
